Our trip to the KC Zoo - April 2012

If you live in Kansas City, and haven't been to the Kansas City Zoo lately...you definitely should check it out. We have bought a family pass for the past 2 years, and use about 2 or 3 times a month.

The girls love to see the animals, and I love to see all the progress the zoo is making to add new exhibits and expand the ones we have. Our favorite is definitely the polar bear ~ Nikita!

Our Swingset

In April, we decided that we would splurge a little bit and get some help from Gma and Gpa to buy the girls their very own Swingset. The one we got was the Jump & Swing from Sears, and we got quite a deal on it online. The girls absolutely LOVE their swingset and have played on it almost every day since daddy & Keith put it together for us.

Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal Review + Giveaway

This month, I was given the opportunity to try my very first box of Honey Bunches of Oats courtesy of Purex Insiders. They sent me a full sized box of cereal, and a handful of FREE coupons to share with all of you.  

As one of America's favorite cereals, I love knowing that delicious granola bunches can be found in every bite. It tastes so good, it's easy to forget why it's good for you too:

Mud pies and worm chases

Oh! How grand it is to be young...making mud pies and digging for worms. I swear sometimes, that my girls were supposed to be boys...as they LOVE to get dirty, and make the biggest messes you can imagine.

On this day in April, the girls were helping daddy with the yardwork and yes, were loving the beautiful Missouri weather we've had.

I just love the pics I got of them...I can't believe how fast they are growing up.

Our trip to Sea Life Aquarium in KC

While Patrick was laid off (during a three week period) we went on a couple family outings, including one to the NEW Sea Life Aquarium in Kansas City.

The trip was really a lot of fun for all of us, although it was a little bit too high on our budget. The price was $50+ for Patrick, Destin and I - and then Arwen was Free since she is 2 and under.

The place itself was pretty amazing...fish of all kinds, an octopus, a "touch pool" where you can touch live star fish and shrimp, live sharks swimming over your head, sting rays, and more...

I am not sure when we will go back, since the price is a little too steep for us to shell out at the moment (again)...but maybe we can make a whole day out of it, and visit the NEW Lego Land Discovery Center which is right next door.

Many of my photos were VERY blurry, since they do not allow Flash Photography - you can take pics, just not w/a flash. You don't want to scare all the sea creatures!
