If you are looking for a fun, outdoors, animal loving, farm style place... take your children to Deanna Rose Farmstead in Overland Park, KS. With almost 200 animals, this place will light up your child's eyes, as they are able to pet/feed almost every animal there. It has beautiful gardens, playgrounds and plenty of walking space. You can fish there, feed baby goats, milk a cow, ride on a pony, go on a hayride and more!

I have had the pleasure of going to Deanna Rose twice this summer, and a couple of times last year. I hope to go see thier pumpkin patch too :)
There are only two events left for the month of October including:
Pumpkin Hollow ~ September 24th thru October 28th
Come and get lost in our patch of pre-picked pumpkins. From big and small to round and tall, you'll find a pumpkin you like and so much more at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead's annual Pumpkin Hollow.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekends.
At Pumpkin Hollow, a horse-drawn wagon ride will take you to and from the patch where each person gets to take home a pumpkin of his or her choice. At the patch, you can:
•Get lost in a hay maze;
•Fish for pumpkins;
•Climb a hay pyramid;
•Play in a "corn" box;
•Shoot pumpkin hoops; and
•Participate in the creepy, crawly snake jump.
Old-fashioned lanterns and carved pumpkins will lead costumed trick-or-treaters through pathways of graves and ghouls at Night of the Living Farm at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, 138th and Switzer on:
Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 29-30
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $7 at the Farmstead or online. Tickets at the gate are $8. All tickets are non-refundable and good for any night. There is no rain date.
