An Interview Update

A few weeks ago I posted about my interview with a local school district, and just wanted to share the emails I got yesterday, as an update...

The first one - It basically said that I wasn't what they were looking for:

I would like to thank you for your willingness to be a candidate for a teaching position with the R-7 School District. Your application, including placement papers, transcripts, references, and preliminary interview, has been reviewed. While I believe you have many admirable strengths, there are other candidates whose qualifications more closely match the opportunities in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District.

Although I cannot give you further consideration at this time; I wish you success in attaining your career goals. Again, thank you for your interest.

But the second email said - I am so sorry, I sent you the wrong email, here is the right one:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your willingness to be a candidate for a position with the Lee's Summit R-7 School District. Your screening interview reflected your professionalism and caring attitude toward students.

Your application, including preliminary interview, placement papers, transcripts, and references, will be made available to the school principals with vacancies in your certificated areas. Should they request another interview, we will notify you by phone.

So...we will just have to see what happens. With the district's levy not passing, I am sure really sure if they will be hiring or firing teachers. I hope that they give me another opportunity to interview :)

  1. Another update as of 2/24/11...

    I got an email stating:
Unfortunately we are cancelling the interviews scheduled for Saturday, February 26, 2011 and we will not be rescheduling. As always, please feel free to check our website for possible job openings.

I am so glad I took the earlier interview in January! I feel bad for those that did not choose the same option as me!
