Soft Cup Product Review

As a woman, there is one thing that NONE of us look forward to...and that is our monthly visit from Mother Nature. For as long as I can remember, I have always used tampons, pads, or if money got really tight...just toilet paper to protect my clothing. But thanks to a new product from a company called Softcup, those items are a thing of the past. 

So, what is Softcup?
Softcup is a flexible cup that is worn internally, around your cervix. It collects, rather than absorbs menstrual flow. It's hypo-allergenic, latex-free and completely safe when used as directed.

As a member of Moms Meet, I was able to try out this product, and even share it with a group of close friends and family...and it was no surprise that many women did not enjoy discussing such a topic. For some, its a private matter, and for others its the simple fact that change is not always welcome. But, for a select few, the product worked wonders. 

The Softcup is a product that truly replaces pads and tampons altogether. Check out this table shown below...

What I loved the most about the Softcup, is that it did not cause any irritation, nor did it hurt inserting/removing from my body. I never even felt the product while I was using it, and had I not been so "heavy", I probably could have worn the product for the full 12 hours, as it claims to work.

I never did wear the product overnight, or during sex...but I imagine it worked in a positive manner in both cases. When I did wear the Softcup, I noticed that odor was not an issue, and I felt very safe knowing that it was not linked to TSS.

Product Review: One Week Parenting Miracle

Our Situation
At this point in my life as a parent to a two year old, I am in desperate need for any kind of guidance when it comes to disciplining my child. I am not sure if it is lack of attention, jealously of her younger sister, or the simple fact that my little girl just does NOT want to listen...but she is extremely defiant.

Most of our friends and family don't believe me, but when she doesn't get her way, Destin throws huge tantrums - including screaming, yelling, crying, hitting, kicking, throwing, etc. When we go out in public, she does not listen or stay with us (which is a BIG safety issue). When I tell her NOT to do something, she does it anyway. And the list goes on...

I don't know if our situation is the way it is, because I am a pushover...but I feel that yelling, time outs and spanking her are not working to our advantage. She is not learning how to control herself, follow directions, and show exemplary behavior.

My Review
So with all that said above, I was really hoping to learn some AMAZING miracle to help me be a better parent as a whole.

I really enjoyed reading through the modules (which are clearly labeled, organized and easy to read). I also liked the mini videos (some only just a few minutes long) to reinforce or go into greater detail about the content.

My issue...lack of time! I am a stay at home mommy to two young children. My only time to myself is at the grocery store, or when the girls go to bed at night (and even then I am usually spending time with my husband).

I think that if I take the needed time and devotion to this issue, things would eventually get better. I think, in a way, you are transrfoming yourself as a parent and not really changing your child (as an outsider may think).

A big eye opener for me, was just hearing and reading the obvious. As an educator, and someone who has dealt with children long before I became a mom; I really felt I should already know these things. I know that positive attention/reinforcement increases positive/good behavior. And you know the saying, "it will get worse - before it gets better?"...that is what has been happening at our house.

Destin's behavior has just been getting worse, with no signs of improvement...and I think the main reason WHY is because I yell or get angry, and pretty much give her negative attention all the time. How I say something is more important, than what I am saying...

Hopefully, after a little bit of time and effort (mostly on my part) things will change for the better...and I am sure I will be on here to update everyone. Until then, here are some more details about this program and how you can access it.

My thoughts…
To be honest, I wish we had the money (it can be very expensive) to do this with our girls when they were born. You just never know what could happen…and it would be nice knowing that we had their cord blood in storage in case they ever had a type of cancer, heart disease, etc. There are so many things that research can someday use cord blood for and maybe someday you or your family could need this life saving blood. Please consider looking into this company, and compare what you find to make the right decision for your family.

My thoughts...
Our family loves Johnsonville meats...ground up, links, patties and more! This program was so much fun to participate in and share with my friends and family! One night when the weather was in the 70's last week, we grilled out with our Mild Italian sausage links and served with pasta salad, chips/dip and fresh fruit. Then tonight I served Sweet Italian sausage links cut up with pasta and sweet Italian pasta sauce (see pic below). I haven't been able to find the Rinaldi sauce at any of the grocery stores around here, but hopefully I will soon! I will keep my eye out, and put in a request at Price Chopper next week.

My thoughts on the product...
This innovative online garden organizer seems to be one that any gardener, school or business would love to call their own! I know that there are several schools in and around where I live that promote growing a garden, and teaching young students.

With that said, its seems to be a great organizing tool..but it does seem a little high on the price. I am not sure if I would be willing to pay the costs of such a product - mostly because as a family on one income - we can barely afford to pay our bills each month. I am not sure if such an organizer could be created just by writing/drawing it out on paper format.

Some facts about Rowbike:
- the bike weighs about 45 lbs with minimal assembly

- you can only buy the rowbike on thier site (so not in a retail store) which means the price is a lot lower than what it could be (according to their site they are sold at $1,000+ for a bike - which is why they can't give them out to everyone for free to blog about!)

- steering is just like a normal bike (with the handlebars)

- there is no weight limit (some riders have been over 300 lbs!)

There are three models to choose from: 720 Sport, 720 Ladies Sport, & 726 King Rowbike

Since I am unable to actually try the bike for myself (due to the cost of the bike, shipping & handling costs)...I wanted to share some reviews I found on their site:

Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves

Our family loves dessert - cookies, brownies, ice cream, cakes, cupcakes and more! Whether we make it ourselves or buy it from the store, you will always find some type of dessert in our house at least once a week. This is probably why a diet in our house doesn't have a long success rate!

Recently I came across doing a product review for a company called 'Roundabouts Cupcake Sleeves". Roundabouts are decorative wraps that simply wrap around the base of your cupcakes to quickly transform your ordinary cupcakes into fun and decorative master pieces. The great part about it is, this is so easy use, less work to create, cheaper than store bought designs, and choose from 70+ great designs for any occasion.

Some of the designs are fun (for a birthday party), some are sophisticated (for a wedding) - they even have cupcake sleeves for each holiday, including, but not limited to: President's Day, Valentines, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's, Cinco De Mayo, Mothers/Fathers, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and more! I was so excited to try the Lil’ Burger decorative cupcake sleeves. Instructions were included on how to achieve the desired color of frosting, each pack came with 12 ready to use cupcake sleeves, and it was so much fun to make with my family.

The whole process is very simple! You bake your cupcakes - any flavor/kind, let them cool, mix the frosting colors (the instructions came with a recipe to make your frosting look a certain color - in this case, light brown), then gently place the Roundabout sleeve around the base of your cupcakes. After placing a sleeve on each cupcake, add frosting. To top these great cupcakes off, I used sesame seeds (which I got in a Chinese microwave meal I bought).
