Yoplait's Two Week Tune Up...

You could lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks!

Sounds great, doesn't it? Well, this weekend after going shopping with my Christmas giftcards and coming out of the empty handed and teary eyed, I have decided that I need to lose some weight. I found this diet in the newspaper, and read up on it online...Yoplait's Two Week Tune Up: http://yoplait.com/twoweektuneup

I also need to make a New Years Resolution...some that I have in mind - losing weight (of course!), being more organized, and spending some more one on one time with my husband.

Back in November, I posted about how I was happy the way I was...and blah, blah, blah! (
http://melissaroach.blogspot.com/2010/11/losing-weightbiggest-loser.html) Honestly, I have to say I am full of it - or I was at the time (which was about 2 months ago).

Ever since I was young, I always remember being big or bigger - not way over weight, but enough to buy bigger sizes in shirts, pants & of course bras! After graduating HS, during my freshman year of college I lost a bunch of weight after becoming vegetarian (I was living in Boulder, CO - the biggest hippy town ever!). I eventually gained it back after getting comfortable with my now-husband - we started dating in 2003. I have gone up & down, but have remained about the same size in shirt/pants for over 10 years...

This past weekend, on Friday to be exact, we went to Macy's where I was mortified to find out that I went up in size (in my bra) by a lot - granted, I am breast feeding, but I am not doing anything to really eat healthy. I had two women who worked there help me, and the only bras I could find that would fit me had no bras, and I really couldn't tell if they fit or not since they were so BIG! I mean humongous bras - they looked like Madonna Godzilla boobs!

So a diet is in my future...And it doesn't help that our order of girl scout cookies came in - and all 3 boxes were gone within 2 days! Wow! So, even though Patrick doesn't think I will stick with it...and I know it is a very long shot I am thinking about doing this diet...I have to lose weight so I am not leaving in tears every time I go shopping for bras, jeans or whatever in the future. I have to be healthy for myself, my marriage, my girls who want an active mommy...and more! I am just sick of being unhealthy - and the fact that I watch 'The Biggest Loser' every week for the past four seasons - I have found some other type of motivation.

Here is what I have to do:
•Replace breakfast and lunch with a Yoplait® Light, a grain and a fruit
•Eat a sensible dinner rich in lean protein, and your favorite vegetables for snacks
•Choose 3 additional servings of non-fat dairy, like skim milk
•Stay active with 30-40 minutes of walking every day (I plan to workout with the Wii & dancing with the girls)

If you go the site...you can design your own meal plan, print it out even! So I am going to try to do this & see if I can lose some weight - and then go from there. I will officially start this tomorrow - so please wish me luck! :)

  1. Sweetie, dieting is the hardest thing, I think, for a Mother. I truly believe if you just cut out sweets you would see a tremdous difference. Sweets are my downfall so I am not judging, mind you. You do want to be healthy for your girls....and to be able to chase Destin!
